Raoul Pop > The main clock tower, a smaller (and older) fortification tower, a school tower and finally the roof of a house combine to form a stairway or rooflines in this photo from downtown Medias.
Raoul Pop > The middle building here looks to have been fairly important, as one can see from the statue on its roof. Not everyone had a statue on their roof during the 1800s... There's a sign below the statue that reads "Zur Spinnerin". The bottom floor housed a music shop during my childhood. My mother bought me a violin there. Now I see it houses some party headquarters, and some cellphone store. Not exactly fitting for a building with a heritage.
Raoul Pop > I used to buy a treat called Eugenia from this shop when I was a child. It wasn't called Pont during those times. The treat is still made, but it just doesn't taste the same way, they've cheapened the ingredients. There's the old clock tower again, it's visible from anywhere, as I already said.
