Raoul Pop > I really like those suspended rooms in the passageway between the two buildings. I'd have liked to walk through them. It must have been a real feat of architecture to span the passage with such a long and straight wall considering it was likely done during the Renaissance. They hadn't yet discovered reinforced concrete, so it was likely done with bricks and thick wood beams. Rome, Italy. Scanned from APS film.
Raoul Pop > The fantastic city hall tower contains the famous Rathaus-Glockenspiel. We see it here from below, looking up toward the top.
Raoul Pop > From the Duomo, Firenze, Italy. Those doors are amazing.
Raoul Pop > Left wing of the Tribunale Ordinario di Firenze, Italy. The architecture is quite beautiful. Notice the interesting roofline, and the unusual semi-arches adorning the corners. I bet you the car designs of the 50s and 60s, particularly the Cadillacs with those tall wing tails and semi-arch headlights, drew their inspiration from this design.
Raoul Pop > Another view of the fantastic Dome in Firenze, Italy. The angle is similar to a previous photo, but encompasses more of the Piazza below.
